About the People’s Dignity Movement
The People’s Dignity Movement (PDM) is a diverse grassroots group of people based in D.C., spanning political backgrounds, ideologies, and identities, working together for the liberation of Palestine through the creation of a nonpartisan social movement space dedicated to supporting humanity-first electoral politics & policies, social-movement study, education, and public demonstrations. We align ourselves with the fight for dignity that exists among all marginalized people, and we are dedicated to building partnerships with other aligned movements and organizations that seek social transformation by centering those at the margins.
PDM knows that we exist in an ever-changing world, and we commit to attuning ourselves to the constant growth that it demands. This is a dedication to reflection about our role as social change actors. We see the scope of our work as addressing the local ties to national and international issues of collective justice. We welcome people of all movement experiences to come find their role in transforming the world into a place of deservingness and worth for all beings, regardless of where and under what circumstances they were born.
We are inspired by the Southern Africa Support Project (1978 —) which was a Washington, D.C.-based grassroots anti-apartheid organization formed to support liberation struggles in Southern Africa, based out of Howard University.
